Another take on, “Grandma said she went to bed 49 and woke up 60!”.
“I can tell you every players’ statistics for the last 20 years.”
“I’ve seen all those movies so many times, I know all the words.”
“I hardly ever drive that 30 year old beauty, but I always wash it weekly. Isn’t it a beaut?”
Those phrases don’t belong to this writer. There are, inevitably, others that DO, though. I wish there weren’t…..
Why are we, as individuals, here? On this planet, at this time, it might seem that we are here to help the less fortunate. Sure, happiness figures in there, somewhere….marriage, children, maybe.
Are we here to own “stuff”? It seems that the more “stuff” you own, the more time it takes to maintain it…leaving…”no” time!
It’s been said, by many an old “geezer”, “My whole life’s been wasted!”. It’s not all that uncommon, at the end of life. It is also not uncommon to hear that from (“near”) death survivors! Why would that be? Maybe because they’ve been shown what REALLY matters, and what doesn’t matter, in the long run.
If life was really as it is presumed to have been meant to be, helping others would not be necessary! Once there WERE “others” in the “Garden of Eden”, WHO would have NEEDED help……if the change from bliss never happened?? Can THAT be the “reason” we’re here, to love…to help? Really?
When it IS time to “meet my Maker”, it seems like knowing players’ stats won’t be real important. It would be highly unlikely that the first thing out of Gods mouth will be, “How’s that antique car looking?”, either. The Almighty and we will immediately start going over the funniest movie quotes of all time…..right?
In a troubled world there are a multitude of ways to “waste” time. Having personally seen (and understood!) that the life you live now, has a LOT to do with the “life” you live…after…life…act for act, thought for thought….any “thinking” person might try to…spend time, here….wisely, for sure. What do you think?
